People generally avoid touring gardens while it is raining, but they may miss getting good looking pictures of wet flowers. This photo was made in Vancouver's Van Dusen Botanical Garden during a light shower. Modern camera equipment can cope with wet conditions (check your owner's manual first!) so a little rain is no excuse for keeping the camera inside. The lens used for this photo focuses internally which helps seal it from the weather. Make sure to use a lens hood to keep the rain away from the front of the lens.
There are many varieties of Hollyhock, we don't know the specifics of this one.
