Coyote

This picture was made in Jasper National Park not far from the townsite of Jasper. The coyote was just looking things over by the side of the highway when we spotted him and stopped the car. We were able to get a number of good pictures when one car after another also stopped, having seen our car rather than the animal. Soon there was a huge traffic jam with dozens of people, some with their huge telephoto lenses on expensive tripods. (We used a smaller telephoto lens handheld, since there was enough light) The coyote went away to hide from all the commotion. The cars also went, but we were blocked in. Before we left, the coyote came out again and we made this picture from inside the car. We took quite a number more but left before another group of people created yet another circus.
