Fallen Log

This picture was made by placing the camera on top of a fallen log, using its strap to keep it level, and taking a long exposure with a wide angle lens and a small aperture. We like it geometry, the tree pointing to the gap it made in the forest. The Sword Ferns are common in the west-coast forests that are not close to the ocean.
