Swallowtail Flutterby

These flutterbies have been in decline in the Vancouver area in the near past. However, since the use of pesticides and herbicides are now banned, we hope that they will recover. This particular Swallowtail is probably a Western Tiger, it was quite large. The picture was made in the Campbell River Valley Regional Park.

By the way, if you are new to this site, we are trying to replace the word "butterfly" with "flutterby" in all English, since it much more appropriate.
