New Zealand Palm Fern

This picture was made to test a new lens, a 200mm "micro". The lens is designed to make photographs of insects, but from enough of a distance that they won't fly away. The lens certainly captured quite a lot of detail in this backlit fern and we are looking forward to using it many times in the future.

The picture has been cropped a little from the original. Originally the main stalk ran up the centre of the picture, moving it aside improves the composition.
