To the Benediktenwand

Here is another view from the Braunek in the Baverian Alps.  Its trails are so popular with hikers that even on a cloudy day in the midweek near the end of September, the proprietors of the alpine huts below the ridge are still baking fresh apple pies and brewing coffee.  The bright white object near the base of the rocky rise on the right is one of the many memorials of mountaineering accident victims.  In the dstance the summit of the Benediktenwand (1801m) is visible, the trail follows the ridge and offers excellent views of the Austrian Alps and the Bergspitze.
