We bought a new camera for Christmas, something smaller and easier to hike with than the professional cameras we usually use. This is one of the first images made with that camera. We had just gone out with the intention of making some test pictures to try the camera out and were pleasently surprised to find some Snowy Owls. These owls only occasionally visit our area, we hadn't seen any for a couple of years.
This image is a crop from the original file, the bird was quite a long distance away and therefore small in the original picture even though a long telephoto lens was used.
