South from Abbott Ridge

We returned to Abbott Ridge, this time with a digital camera, after having photographed the area several times in the past. (See "Mt. Afton, the Rampart, Glacier National Park") This image was made with a wider lens from a point a little bit higher than our previous effort.  The park's new policy for the Abbott Ridge trail is to discourage people from taking the loop trail since the southern part of the loop involves a walk down over a fairly steep icy path.
