This is the valley that you see about 200m meters after Healy Pass heading east in Banff National Park. What you don't see here is the hard driving rain that started just a few minutes after this photo was made. At this point you are about 9.5km from the trailhead. We always carry rain gear with us when we hike, so we were prepared for the 2 hour walk back. Healy Pass may be a long day hike (19km), but it's beauty is hard to beat and it is a steady but easy rise up to the alpine.
