Spring and early summer is the time to see the Columbine in flower. The back of the flower is as, or perhaps more, distinctive than the front. There are many varieties of Columbine as it has has been one of gardening's favourite flowers for a long time. The lighting, filtered through nearby trees, highlighted this particular bloom and its two buds that are about to open.
