This plant can be found on mountain and hillsides around the northern Hemisphere, it is a circumboreal species. Also known as Bluebells-of-Scottland, the cheerful little flowers appear from July to September on wiry stems about 10 to 20 cm tall from a rosette of small roundish leaves. Campanula rotundifolia is a perennial easily grown from seeds and seems to like sunny, dry locations. This photograph was taken on a mountain meadow in Upper Bavaria.
