Although we usually photograph the wild places, plants and animals around our area, this time we have a picture of the urban Vancouver. The west end is the residential area just west of downtown Vancouver. From the lawn of the Vancouver Museum, where this image was made, the height of the buildings just happen to follow the height of the North Shore Mountains behind them. Note that the white object that appear to be on top of the buildings on the right side is actually a kite that is being flown by a person just beyond the second pond. The forest on the left edge of this picture is a small part of Stanley Park, the world's third largest urban park.
