Mallard Pair in Flight

Previous photograph Back to the gallery page Next photograph

Birds in flight are difficult to photograph. You have to use a telephoto lens, which have shallow depth of field yet the birds don't slow down! (They probably can't - they likely need the airspeed to stay aloft) This image is an early attempt to capture birds on the wing. It is a little soft (not in sharp focus), so we have room for improvement.
