Rhododendron is a native plant in the Vancouver area, however this image is of a cultivated plant. The Loder Rhododendron has a lighter coloured flower. In this example, the flowers appear to be glowing because the hazy sunlight is penetrating through the petals. We made this image in Vancouver's Van Dusen Botanical Garden.
