Song Sparrow

Photograph

The spring has the arrival of many birds to our area, building nests, setting up territories, laying eggs. The male song sparows claim their territory by singing from a high perch and they will chase any intruder daring to raise his own voice. As soon as the breeding season starts the songs besome fewer as the birds are more secretive to protect their young.

This photo was taken with a Nikon F5 and an 80 - 400 mm lens on Kodak Royal Gold 100. The camera was handhold using the lenses VR capabilities (setting up a tripod would have disturbed the bird so he might not have returned.)
